 Camardo’s story begins in 1948, spanning four generations. In the post-war period, during his journey to South America, Grandfather Bartolomeo Camardo becomes interested in coffee culture. Full of enthusiasm and passion, he gets back to Italy and opens a coffee shop in Campo Marzio street in Rome. But he dreams of going back to his homeland: the Molise region, in Southern Italy, with the aim of creating a future for his family and his land.

In 1951 Bartolomeo Camardo opens his first small coffe-roasting boutique in Campobasso. He is given as a present a picture of the Goddess of Fortune, symbolizing good omen since ancient times, and it becomes the icon of Camardo Coffee. Campobasso, Bartolomeo’s hometown is enchanted by the aroma of freshly roasted coffee…

The Camardo Company is a pioneer in coffee exportation abroad reaching markets in Australia, Canada and the United States.

From its birth the coffee bean plays the leading role in our high quality control system, beginning with the selection of the green coffee beans and concluding with the selling of the product. For more than 50 years we have assured quality in every single phase of production. A delicate process of renovation of the corporate’s image begins by restyling the company’s trademark and packaging aimed more towards an international clientele.

Camardo’s manufacturing plant is situated in Campobasso/Ripalimosani and spans across 15,000 square meters, 10,000 of which are covered. There are 8 production lines for packaging, allowing us to manufacture over 2,000 tons of coffee each year.

70% of the production is destined for the HO.RE.CA. sector, while the remaining 30% is ground and packed for retail or into pods and capsules.

The Camardo mission is to produce a coffee of excellent quality and to promote the culture of espresso as a way to enjoy life. After quality coffee beans are obtained, the most important phase of the production of coffee begins the roasting and the blending. A good roaster must be part artist, and part scientist, to maintain quality and consistency. It is during the roasting process that the sugars and other carbohydrates within the bean become caramelized, creating a substance which is known as the coffee oil. Technically, this fragile chemical is not actually an oil (since it is water soluble), but it is what gives the coffee its flavor and aroma.

At Caffè Camardo we use drum roasting machines to roast the coffee beans as they tumble in a rotating drum that is typically heated by gas. Caffè Camardo is heated only with hot air, so not to tamper with the texture of our coffee, allow us to preserve a zero level of humidity. This is important, as any level of humidity will damage the coffee and accelerate its aging.

When the desired roast is achieved, the beans are poured into a cooling hopper to keep them from overcooking.  One of the most fundamental rules to a true espresso is use the right coffee. Caffè Camardo is the true espresso.

Anyone familiar with MonaGelato knows that our gelato and cafe is unrivaled because we make it with simple, fresh ingredients like Organic milk and fresh fruit.
We have been making gelato and cafe since 2023 and control every step of the process from making the base mix at our production facility to finishing the gelato on site at each gelato shop to ensure the highest quality. We carefully select the best Italian ingredients and don’t use any artificial colorings, flavorings or preservatives in our gelatos and sorbets.
This is what sets us apart from other ice cream and gelato shops. MonaGelato is not the simplest or least expensive in the frozen-dessert space, but the taste of our gelato and the joy it brings our guests, makes the effort worthwhile.
